As a student of Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT) you will have the opportunity to learn at one of the major centres of tertiary education in Ireland. You will join a community of around 9,000 students which is committed to providing you with an Irish educational experience and qualification which is recognized throughout the world.
Galway has a population of 76,000 and is a student friendly and safe city. It has a vibrant cultural centre and is home to a host of dynamic international IT and medical technology companies. Our main campus is situated 2.5 Km. from the city centre and is surrounded by 3 student villages.
GMIT offers an international foundation programme and undergraduate/postgradate courses in Computing, Life and Physical Sciences, Mechanical, Electronic and Civil Engineering, Hospitality and Tourism, Business and Humanities. All of our educational programmes have a professional orientation so that you will have a passport to the workplace.
GMIT has built substantial links with business and industry in the West of Ireland. They are extremely important as they enable the institute to fulfill its role as a centre for innovative thought and action in the region and provide placement opportunities for our students.
